The Opportunity:

The Facilities Operations department within Facilities and Business Operations is seeking to fill a Supervisor role for a retail store named The Spot. The Supervisor plays a key role in ensuring smooth daily operations while providing leadership and support to a team of student employees through effective scheduling, training, and engagement. In this role you will be a problemsolver who consistently delivers high service standards, resolves customer issues, and supports business efficiency. Working closely with The Spot Manager and Copier Services Manager, you will help drive a positive customer experience and dependable retail operations.

Responsibilities:



  • Supervise daily retail operations, including passport and TSA application processing, print quotes and production, shipping services, and other related operational tasks.

  • Support store opening and closing procedures, including daily deposits, and work in partnership with the UCF Print Shop to fulfill customer requests.

  • Assist the Retail Manager with oversight of The Spot by supporting daily operations, reviewing procedures, and helping develop and implement operational policies.

  • Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, and staffing of student and retail employees to ensure appropriate coverage and service levels.

  • Maintain open and effective communication with vendors, contractors, employees, and customers; resolve customer issues and complaints while delivering high levels of customer service and positive public relations.

  • Coordinate document destruction and name badge services, including vendor communication, billing, and accounts payable support.

  • Partner with Copier Services to support billing reconciliation, customer requests, and daytoday operational needs.

  • Maintain inventory and equipment for The Spot; request, purchase, and manage supplies as needed to support ongoing operations.




Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent and 2+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219.

Preferred Qualifications:



  • 3+ years of supervisory or lead experience in a retail, customer service, operations, or service oriented environment, including responsibility for scheduling, training, and performance oversight.

  • Demonstrated experience providing high quality customer service, resolving escalated issues, and maintaining a professional, customer focused environment.

  • Experience supervising student employees and/or part time staff, preferably in a university, campus retail, or comparable service environment.

  • Experience supporting daily retail operations, including cash handling, deposits, inventory control, billing, and basic financial reconciliation.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple operational needs and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.

  • Experience working with print services, shipping services, document management, or similar operational services is preferred.

  • Proficiency with point of sale systems, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), and basic reporting tools; experience with marketing coordination or promotions is a plus.

  • Ability to pass Department of State passport acceptance training.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, Hospitality Management, or a related field is a plus.




Special Instructions to the Applicants:

The anticipated hourly wage for this position is $17.64 - $23.47. The final hourly wage will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.

This is an Auxiliary (AUX) funded position. Employment is subject to availability of funding and may cease at the time funding for this employment is depleted.

This position supports a retail environment with hours of operation that may vary. The schedule may occasionally include evening hours based on business needs.

Position requires a valid Class E driver's license. The position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.

Due to the nature of the work and facility access needed, candidates must be U.S. citizens or U.S. nationals.
