We are extremely proud of our legacy of excellence and constantly work to fulfill our mission to "protect people, enhance lives, and preserve the planet."

What do our Vegetation Management Specialists do?

The primary purpose of this role is to perform our industry-leading vegetation management and weed control services for residential and commercial customers. You will be responsible for identifying invasive plant species and noxious weeds, conducting site assessments, applying targeted herbicide treatments, and implementing mechanical control methods. Your goal is to restore and maintain the aesthetic and structural integrity of our clients' properties while adhering to strict environmental safety regulations and providing expert guidance on long-term land management.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Conduct thorough site assessments of client properties to identify invasive species, brush overgrowth, and potential fire or structural hazards.

  • Apply approved vegetation control products, including specialized herbicides and growth regulators, using precision spray equipment to eliminate target weeds while protecting desirable foliage.

  • Educate customers on integrated vegetation management (IVM) and the importance of ecological balance, providing advice on native planting and long-term prevention.

  • Build relationships with customers, manage service schedules, identify opportunities for service upgrades, and assist in expanding our footprint to new properties.

  • Maintain and calibrate equipment, including high-volume sprayers, backpack applicators, and mechanical trimmers, ensuring everything is in peak working condition.

  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations regarding chemical applications, environmental runoff protocols, and pesticide safety.

  • Drive and safely operate a company-provided service vehicle (we provide routine maintenance) equipped with specialized application tanks.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Navigating challenging terrain such as hillsides, ditches, dense brush, and uneven landscapes.

  • Working around varied ecosystems, including wetlands, forest borders, and residential gardens.

  • Operating near heavy machinery, moving vehicles, and power lines; we provide comprehensive training on situational awareness and safety around power rights-of-way.

  • Enduring outdoor conditions in your local climate; you will be working primarily outdoors in various weather conditions in company-provided gear.

  • Physical stamina and agility - the role requires regular walking, climbing, stooping, and carrying heavy equipment (like backpack sprayers) over long distances and varied grades.

  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including chemical-resistant suits, gloves, and eye protection as required by product labeling.

What do you need?
  • High school diploma or GED; related experience in landscaping, forestry, or agriculture is a plus.

  • Valid driver's license from your state of residence with a clean driving record.

  • State-mandated Pesticide Applicator License (specifically in categories like Right-of-Way or Ornamental & Turf); we will provide training and coverage for those looking to get certified.

  • Availability to work Monday-Friday, with occasional weekends during peak growing seasons.

  • A commitment to environmental stewardship and a willingness to become an expert in local plant identification.

  • Solid communication skills for explaining technical treatment plans to clients.

  • Basic math skills for calculating tank mixes, flow rates, and application concentrations based on label instructions.

  • Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly.
