Job Title: Training and Adoption Specialist Job Location: Washington, DC
Position Overview:
- The Training and Adoption Specialist is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of the training and adoption workstream: assessing training needs, developing role-based curricula and training materials, coordinating training delivery, evaluating effectiveness, monitoring adoption, and developing post-go-live support materials. All training materials are developed based on the Board's Collibra production environment and use Board-specific data examples and workflows. This individual works closely with the Board's technical team and the Additional Training Developer throughout the period of performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct the Training Needs Assessment, covering all six user roles: Data Catalog End Users, Data Catalog Stewards, Data Stewards, Data Sponsors, Data Catalog Administrators, and Business Glossary Curators.
- Develop the Training Strategy and Plan, defining delivery methods, role-based curricula, training schedule, and resource requirements; ensure all user groups receive appropriate training before go-live.
- Develop role-based training curricula for all six user roles, defining learning objectives, course outlines, and competency requirements.
- Develop comprehensive training materials, including user guides, quick reference guides, hands-on exercises, presentation slides, job aids, and a minimum of five role-specific video tutorials; all materials Section 508 compliant.
- Coordinate training logistics including scheduling, participant communications, registration management, and pre-training preparation; provide SME support during training sessions.
- Develop and implement training effectiveness evaluation mechanisms: participant feedback surveys, knowledge assessments, and completion rate tracking; analyze results and recommend improvements.
- Develop post-go-live support materials including help documentation, support request procedures, common issues/resolutions, and resources for continued learning.
- Monitor adoption metrics and identify user groups or role segments requiring additional training or support intervention.
- Supervise and quality-assure work produced by the Additional Training Developer throughout the period of performance.
Mandatory Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in instructional design and training development.
- Minimum of 3 years supporting enterprise technology implementations or software training programs.
- Demonstrated experience developing role-based curricula and training materials for complex software applications.
- Demonstrated experience with adult learning principles and multiple training delivery methods (instructor-led, virtual, self-paced, hands-on lab).
- Demonstrated strong technical aptitude and ability to quickly learn new enterprise software systems.
- Demonstrated experience creating video tutorials and e-learning content.
- Demonstrated excellent facilitation and presentation skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Training and Development, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Instructional design certification (CPLP, ATD Certification in Talent Development) strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with Collibra's data catalog capabilities and user interface preferred.
- Experience with data management tools, data catalogs, or data governance platforms (Collibra, Alation, Informatica Axon, or equivalent).
- Master's degree in Instructional Design or a related field preferred.
- Experience working in Agile environments including Scrum and SAFe.
- Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools (Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or equivalent).
