Job Summary The Revenue Cycle Specialist is responsible for supporting all aspects of the revenue cycle to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement for patient services. This role focuses on insurance verification, billing, accounts receivable follow-up, denials management, payment posting, and collections. The ideal candidate has strong Epic experience, Medi-Cal knowledge, and hands-on experience within a California FQHC environment. Key Responsibilities * Manage end-to-end revenue cycle functions including insurance verification, billing, collections, payment posting, and account follow-up * Submit, review, and adjust medical claims to ensure accuracy and timely reimbursement * Perform follow-up on unpaid, underpaid, or denied claims and initiate corrective actions * Analyze denials and conduct root cause analysis to identify trends and prevent future billing issues * Prepare and submit appeals for denied claims in accordance with payer and regulatory guidelines * Work accounts receivable to minimize AR days and ensure timely collection of outstanding balances * Post insurance payments, patient payments, and adjustments accurately in Epic * Process Medi-Cal claims and resolve eligibility, authorization, and payment issues * Provide customer service support related to billing and patient account inquiries as needed * Complete miscellaneous administrative and revenue cycle tasks as assigned Required Skills & Qualifications * Epic EMR experience - required * Medical billing experience - required * Accounts receivable and insurance follow-up - required * Denials management and appeals experience - required * Medi-Cal insurance knowledge - required * Strong understanding of revenue cycle workflows * Ability to perform root cause analysis and problem-solve billing issues * Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Preferred Qualifications * Experience working in a California FQHC environment * Familiarity with state and federal healthcare billing regulations Experience Level * Intermediate level Systems & Tools * Epic EMR * Medical billing and revenue cycle systems Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fresno, CA.
