UVA Library is seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated candidate for the position of LEO Access Support Specialist to join UVA Library's well-recognized LEO (Library Express On-Grounds) and Scanning Services team. The LEO Access Support Specialist is responsible for maintaining the daily operations of Library Express On-Grounds (LEO) services, including delivering requested Library materials to Library branches and academic departments throughout the UVA community. This includes transporting library collections between libraries as returns, hold shelf items, or new acquisitions being sent to their home locations, as well as assisting with the transfer of collections designated for bindery or relocation. The position requires processing all Library materials using computer and software applications. In a secondary capacity, the LEO Access Support Specialist provides backup support for Instructional Scanning services, which includes retrieving requested materials from the stacks, scanning from source materials, and remediating scanned PDFs to ensure they meet digital accessibility standards. Physical Demands Requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and the use of a hand truck to push or pull up to 150 pounds. Ability to bend, stoop, and reach to retrieve and reshelve Library materials. Be comfortable standing and walking for extended periods of time in all weather conditions.
