The Supply Chain Optimization Director owns fleet ELD, Telematics systems and Safety Camera configuration & usage across DFA Dairy Brands. This role ensures telematics capabilities are deployed safely, compliantly, and effectively to drive operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and driver safety. The position serves as the primary liaison between Logistics, IT, Legal, and external telematics partners.
Key Responsibilities
Fleet Telematics
- Own configuration, administration, and governance of the Samsara telematics platform.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of fleet assets, devices, gateways, and telematics data.
- Oversee hardware lifecycle activities including installation, troubleshooting and replacement.
- Partner with reporting teams to resolve discrepancies between telematics systems and enterprise reporting.
Safety Camera Usage
- Lead enterprise strategy, rollout, and oversight of safety camera usage.
- Configure alerts, thresholds, and review workflows consistent with company policy and labor agreements.
- Review safety trends and driver behavior to drive continuous improvement and risk reduction.
- Act as primary liaison to vendors for safety camera feedback, enhancements, and issue resolution.
Compliance & Regulatory Support
- Own DVIR, ELD, and HOS standards, configuration, and training materials within telematics systems.
- Support DOT compliance efforts, audits, and regulatory inquiries.
Training & Documentation
- Develop and maintain training and reference materials for telematics and driver-facing systems.
- Support Super Users and field leadership with telematics enablement resources and best practices.
Vendor, Financial & Contract Management
- Serve as primary DFA point of contact for telematics vendors.
- Coordinate with Finance on billing accuracy, cost allocation, and invoice resolution.
- Support telematics contract renewals, amendments, and vendor roadmaps.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Collaborate with Logistics, Operations, Safety, Finance, IT, and Legal stakeholders.
- Provide clear recommendations and risk assessments related to telematics usage and risk.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated leadership experience in logistics, transportation, or fleet operations.
- Strong knowledge of telematics platforms, safety cameras, and regulatory compliance.
- Proven ability to partner cross-functionally and manage vendor relationships.
- Experience using telematics, operational, and financial data to support decision-making.
Undergraduate degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, operations management, engineering, or related curriculum (or equivalent combination of experience and education)
10 or more years of progressive supply chain management, logistics, transportation/distribution, operations, or related experience
Experience applying sophisticated continuous improvement (lean six-sigma), experience optimizing efficiency and reducing cost (production/manufacturing/supply chain), and experience managing projects and teams
