Provides ongoing support and comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the needs of the Surgical Services area. The overall goal of the position is to enhance the quality of service and satisfaction, through cost effectiveness measures. Works collaboratively with other departments and vendors to achieve high quality, cost effective instrumentation and supplies. Responsibilities: Reconciles charges with documentation in patient medical record daily. Enters missed charges through order communications as necessary. Keeps monthly record of over and under charging. Keeps up to date with current changes in charging. Makes observation of any discrepancies within the ChargeMaster and reports those findings to Surgery Director. Performs daily charge audits and makes necessary corrections. Makes suggestions to surgical staff members of any new changes of procedures or charges, relevant to department. Prepares monthly report of audit results for presentation to administration. Oversee instrumentation and availability for all surgical cases. Oversee instrumentation and availability for Family BirthPlace and Emergency Department. Oversee instrumentation and availability for all practices for office procedures. Coordinate with vendors bringing instrumentation into the facility or removing from facility. Oversee purchasing/consignment/just in time/loaner instruments coming into the facility. Assist in preparing budget and ordering new instrumentation/capital as well as supplies and repairs needed. Monitor the availability of items for preference cards, such as ordering thru Lawson, receiving from materials management and placement of products within the operating room/storage areas. Responsible for all charges (entering/reviewing of documentation for compliance and correction) within surgery/FBP/Pain/Infusion center/Hancock surgery center/Wound. Oversee value analysis team for surgical services. Supervise Central Supply staff and staff supplying preference card supplies. Assists with any other duties as assigned by Surgery Director.
LENOIR Other information: Education Requirements: * High School Diploma required. Associates Degree strongly preferred. Licensure/Certification Requirements: Professional Experience Requirements: * Minimum (2) two years of experience in surgical department. Supervisory and business experience preferred. Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements: * Must have excellent written/verbal communication skills; Ability to prioritize in high pressure clinical situations.
