College internship for a rotation as a Survey Mapper, Junior Field Surveyor and Survey Cad Technician.



Responsibilities

Desired Skills:

    Understanding of field to finish coding with understanding of terrain models and 3D models from survey data
  • Familiarity with High-Definition Scanning (HDS)
  • Familiarity of field and office surveying methods, practices, and mathematical procedures for surveying

Responsibilities:

Office

  • Data reduction, field note reduction, calculations, data checks and staking computations using Trimble Business Center and Civil3D
  • Producing 3D surfaces in Civil3D utilizing survey codes.
  • Interpreting legal descriptions, survey maps, and engineering plans
  • Organize and maintain field equipment.

Field

  • Transporting and setup of surveying equipment and instruments.
  • Clear vegetation or debris as directed for surveying measurements.
  • Assist the Party Chief in recording measurements by operating prism and level rods.
  • Run and adjust survey measuring instruments including level, theodolite, electronic measuring devices, total stations with electronic data collecting capabilities and GPS receivers.
  • Work in the field on control, boundary, right-of-way, topographic and construction surveys, in a two-person field crew in urban and remote areas


Qualifications

Education/Qualifications:
Must be currently enrolled in school with an emphasis in civil engineering or geomatics/surveying. Familiarity with Civil 3D, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel), and Trimble Business Center through coursework is preferred.

Certifications/Licenses:

Certifications/Licenses: LSIT or EIT Preferable

The pay range for this California position is $22- $25 per hour; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided per California Senate Bill 1162.
