Genesis10 is currently seeking an Azure Data Platform Engineer - Hybrid position with a Major Healthcare Company in Bloomington, MN. This is a 6+ month contract-to-hire opportunity.

Conversion Salary Rate:
Up to $130k per year.

This pivotal role is responsible for deploying, maintaining, and monitoring Azure Data Landing Zone resources to ensure optimal performance and reliability across the organization. The engineer will safeguard the stability of the enterprise analytics platform, enabling seamless analytics workflows and data-driven decision-making. This position ensures compliance, minimizes operational risk, and supports the delivery of reliable enterprise insights that drive organizational success.

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Azure Infrastructure Engineer to support the deployment and optimization of cloud resources within a modern Azure data environment. This role is heavily focused on infrastructure deployment and automation, not ongoing support.

You will play a key role in building out and scaling an Azure-based data landing zone, working closely with engineering teams while also providing coaching and guidance on best practices.

Responsibilities
  • Deploy and manage Azure resources within a data landing zone architecture
  • Build and maintain infrastructure using Terraform
  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure proper deployment of:
    • Azure Databricks
    • Azure Synapse
    • Azure SQL Database
  • Provide technical coaching and mentorship on infrastructure-as-code and DevOps practices
  • Perform performance tuning and optimization (DBA/infrastructure focus)
  • Support version control, branching strategies, and deployment workflows
Qualifications
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Azure and core cloud services
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure deployment
  • Proven experience with GitHub Actions (CI/CD, versioning, automation)
  • Strong PowerShell scripting experience
  • Background in systems/infrastructure DBA work, including performance tuning
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Azure DevOps
  • Familiarity with Azure CLI (or willingness to learn)
  • Azure certifications (nice to have, not required)
Work Environment & Expectations
  • Focus is on building and deploying infrastructure, not production support
  • Minimal weekend work expected
