About the role

As a Back Plant Operator, you will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and environmentally sound operation of the back ash area and associated equipment within Reworld's industrial disposal process. This role combines equipment monitoring, preventive and corrective maintenance, and daily operational support to ensure reliable facility performance.

Position Responsibilities:

* Perform daily walkdowns of the back ash area, inspecting conveyors, belts, rollers, separators, and related equipment for defects or abnormal conditions

* Monitor equipment performance, including speeds, alignment, ash buildup, and overall system cleanliness

* Conduct routine preventive maintenance and assist with corrective maintenance tasks throughout the day

* Participate in the daily morning kickoff meeting (20-30 minutes) with the maintenance team to review the day's work plan

* Support scheduled system shutdowns to complete repairs safely and efficiently

* Operate industrial equipment, including front-end loaders (experience preferred)

* Utilize weekly activity books and critical items checklists to complete inspections and document equipment status

* Safely perform lock-out/tag-out procedures in support of maintenance activities

* Report equipment issues and submit repair requests using established work order processes

* Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment in the back ash area

* Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure safe and efficient facility operations

Position Requirements & Qualifications:

* High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred

* Valid driver's license

* Experience operating heavy industrial equipment required

* Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and support maintenance on conveyors, belts, rollers, and related systems

* Experience as a Maintenance Mechanic (MM) or Equipment Operator (EO) is a strong plus

* Ability to work a rotating shift schedule

* Strong commitment to safety, communication, and teamwork

Physical Demands of the Role:

* Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb

* Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs

* Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces

* Ability to qualify to wear a full-face respirator

* Ability to work in various weather conditions

Pay Transparency

This role is covered under a Labor Union / Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). The pay rate and benefits will be according to CBA for the role.
