Responsibilities
Position Overview The CareerLevel 3Axis CNC Mill Machinist independently sets up and operates CNC milling machines to produce highprecision components while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards. This role requires solid machining experience, sound judgment, and the ability to support daily production with minimal supervision. Key Responsibilities
- Independently set up and operate CNC 3axis milling machines to produce precision parts in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications
- Interpret and apply blueprints, GD&T, and work instructions to ensure accurate part execution
- Perform inprocess and final inspections using standard metrology equipment to verify conformance
- Hold tight tolerances on precision components (0.001 in / 0.025 mm and smaller)
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve routine machining, tooling, and quality issues
- Make tool offsets, perform tool changes, and adjust machining parameters as required
- Communicate issues, risks, and improvement opportunities to engineering, quality, and supervision
- Support process improvements, cost reduction, and schedule commitments
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with safety requirements
- Follow all standard operating procedures, quality systems, and safety policies
Qualifications
Required Qualifications (Career Level)
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Technical degree, military training, or machining certification preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of handson experience setting up and operating CNC 3axis milling machines
- Demonstrated ability to machine tighttolerance, highprecision parts (0.001 in or smaller)
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and GD&T
- Experience using standard measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, indicators, bore gauges, and height gauges
- Strong working knowledge of machining principles, cutting tools, materials, and feeds/speeds
- Basic computer literacy, including:
- Navigating CNC machine controls
- Entering offsets and tool data
- Using digital work instructions, MES, or production tracking systems
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong problemsolving skills, attention to detail, and quality focus
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CAD/CAM software (operatorlevel interaction)
- Tool grinding or tool maintenance experience
- Familiarity with advanced inspection systems such as CMMs or Keyence LM/IM
- Experience supporting NPI (New Product Introduction) or CPI (Continuous Process Improvement) efforts
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 35 pounds
- Ability to stand for extended periods while operating machinery
- Good handeye coordination and manual dexterity
Pay Range USD $51,930.00 - $86,550.00 per year (Base compensation determined by experience level, skills, and qualifications) Note:For other locations, pay ranges will vary by region This role is eligible for Keysight Results Bonus Program US Employees may be eligible for the following benefits:
