Exciting Opportunity at MSK: Director, IT Business Operations

At Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK), our missiondriven IT organization powers lifesaving care, research, and innovation across the enterprise. The Director of IT Business Operations will drive financial discipline, vendor strategy, and operational excellence across key technology verticals, ensuring the rollout and adoption of robust IT financial management processes that strengthen longterm performance.

Role Overview

  • Lead operational planning and execution across assigned DigITs verticals, with a focus on enterprise technology and critical infrastructure delivery.

  • Oversee development and rollout of IT Financial Management (ITFM) processes, including budgeting, forecasting, cost transparency, and TCO management.

  • Partner with VP/SVP level leaders to translate technology needs into actionable business plans aligned with organizational priorities.

  • Drive vendor engagement strategy, enabling consistent evaluation, negotiation, and performance oversight across the IT portfolio.

  • Coordinate contract lifecycle activities to ensure compliance, risk mitigation, and value optimization for technology spend.

  • Provide oversight of operational reporting, including financial performance, variance management, and quarterly business review inputs.

  • Identify costoptimization opportunities and lead measurable initiatives that increase efficiency and reduce operational waste.

  • Ensure tooling and digital enablement services are effectively implemented to support business operations and ITFM capabilities.

  • Lead, coach, and support team members-, including fulltime staff and contractors-, to ensure consistent service delivery across verticals.

Key Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in IT business operations, finance, or technology management roles.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting enterprisescale technology verticals (Infrastructure experience strongly preferred).

  • Proven ability to lead IT financial management processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost modeling.

  • Strong background in vendor management, sourcing coordination, and contract negotiation.

  • Proficiency with financial modeling, cost analysis, and technology investment evaluation.

  • Highly collaborative with strong relationshipbuilding capabilities across business, technical, and vendor teams.

  • Skilled communicator comfortable advising senior leaders and presenting complex financial and operational data.

  • Adaptable, resourceful leader who manages ambiguity and guides teams through change with clarity and purpose.

  • Schedule: Hybrid, 3 times a week on site in NYC with flexibility as needed

Pay Range: $183,900.00 - $312,500.00 FSLA Status: Exempt
