DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will perform maintenance and repair work at the Harrisburg Military Post. Your duties will include preparing and painting walls, installing and repairing plumbing fixtures, and performing carpentry work. Carpentry work may include remodeling rooms, lowering ceilings, installing tiles, and installing drywall. You can also expect to install and repair electric circuits, change light bulbs, and perform maintenance on fire alarms and security systems. Your work will include operating and maintaining tools and equipment, as well as moving furniture for cleaning. Additionally, you will maintain landscaping of the grounds and participate in the snow removal process.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. This may change base don operational needs.
  • Travel as needed
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

Special Requirement:
  • This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
