We're seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Vice President, Payments Product Manager to join our Global Payments & Trade team. This role is located in Pittsburgh, PA, Lake Mary, FL or New York, NY. In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
- Leads product management, guides strategy, and provides servicing for complex products for the Domestic Payments Group of Global Payments & Trade Platform including Real-Time Payments and ACH.
- Applies expert knowledge of industry trends, market segments, client needs and competitor services/offerings to deliver best in class payment solutions.
- Owns the product governance to adhere to enterprise product governance standards, including change control, risk assessments and periodic reviews.
- Partners with legal, compliance and risk to ensure products comply with applicable laws, rules and regulations.
- Defines and monitors SLAs, KPIs and other metrics across the end-to-end value chain to understand the performance of the products, to quantify client satisfaction and to maintain the overall health of the products.
- Manages vendor relationships and supports third party governance activities to ensure vendor performance aligns with contractual obligations and SLAs.
- Serves as product point of contact for escalation of critical client issues, and partners with Client Service, Operations and Technology to resolve, understand root cause and prevent recurrences.
- Translates market needs and client feedback into clear product requirements, and user stories and prioritizes the backlog based on value, risk and effort.
- Uses the Agile methodology to partner with Engineering and Operations teams to deliver high-quality releases on time. Maintains associated product documentation, release notes and client communications.
- Aligns cross-functional stakeholders including Sales, Marketing, Operations, Technology and Client Servicing around product goals, delivery plans, KPIs, etc.
- Communicates strategy, product performance, P&L, roadmaps and risks to senior leadership to secure decisions and resources to achieve targets.
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
- Expert product knowledge in core US domestic payment rails with focus on Real-Time Payments and ACH.
- Industry Certifications such as the AAP and/or AFPP are preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in business or technical-related discipline, or equivalent work experience required, advanced degree preferred.
- Experience in product ownership or product management in the financial services industry is preferred.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $104,000 and $228,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs. This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
