Established over a century ago, the Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business is a leader in education, research, and innovation that advances business and improves the human condition. Job Summary

The Assistant Director of Finance Operations manages the accounting and financial operation functions at the school level. This role manages budgeting, financial analysis, maintaining financial records and preparation of financial reports and statements.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Business, Finance or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Experience
Six to eight years of job-related experience

Masters of Business Administration (MBA)

The ideal candidate should demonstrate exceptional analytical and organizational abilities, sound judgment, and a deep understanding of financial policy and compliance in a higher education environment. They should possess strong communication skills, the ability to lead and develop staff, and the capacity to collaborate effectively across functional areas. A proactive, solutions oriented mindset and a commitment to accuracy, transparency, and continuous improvement will be critical to success in this role.

Proposed Salary

$83,659.00 - $117,659.00 annually. Commensurate with experience.

  1. Manage and oversee monthly worktag reconciliations across all fund types, including Foundation, Sponsored, and Designated Support Services (DSS) accounts.
  2. Oversee all revenue administration activities for the College's Executive Education programs, ensuring accurate recording, monitoring, and tracking of program revenues, invoices, receivables, and associated financial transactions.
  3. Maintain accountability for all Workday financial transactions initiated within the unit to include guiding staff on compliance requirements, documentation standards, and policy interpretation.
  4. Manage and implement Scheller Finance policies, processes, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to promote consistency, accuracy, and strong internal controls across the College. Review and update procedures regularly to reflect changing institutional policies, audit recommendations, and best practices.
  5. Serve as the primary owner and content manager for the College's finance intranet platform.
  6. Provide direct leadership to assigned staff, including Financial Manager(s) and Budget Analysts, ensuring clear expectations, coaching, and development opportunities.
  7. Work closely with the Director of Finance to implement the strategic vision for the Finance Office and ensure alignment with the broader goals of the College, ensuring unit goals are visible and actionable for the finance team and that they are embedded in daily operations and monitored for progress.
  8. Assist in monitoring budget performance, forecasting, and long-range financial planning as needed.
