Responsibilities

Orrick seeks an associate with a minimum of one year of experience focusing on M&A transactions to join Orrick's Energy & Infrastructure M&A team, which is a part of Orrick's market-leading Energy & Infrastructure practice consisting of an integrated global team of over 150 attorneys practicing in the areas of M&A, finance, project development, regulatory, tax, environmental and real estate, among others. Associates will have the opportunity to work on sophisticated M&A transactions across every major asset class in the energy and infrastructure sector, including renewables, power generation, oil & gas, energy transition, energy tech, infrastructure and data centers.

This position offers flexibility for candidates to live in any U.S. city where Orrick has an office with a strong preference for candidates to live in one of Houston, Austin, San Francisco, New York, or Washington, D.C.

About the Team

This is a unique opportunity to join a close-knit, collaborative M&A team within the larger Energy & Infrastructure platform at Orrick. The Orrick Energy & Infrastructure M&A team works on high-impact acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and corporate transactions for market-leading clients across the entire energy and infrastructure sector. The team is looking to grow to cover its significant and increasing deal flow.

The Energy & Infrastructure M&A team has carefully crafted a collaborative environment and is focused on training, mentoring, and associate development. In addition to client work, the Energy & Infrastructure M&A partners work sidebyside with the associates to conduct regular substantive and soft-skills training programs. Associates on the team help organize and run training sessions, develop pitches, and improve processes for data collection and use of technology.


Qualifications

At least one year of M&A experience. Candidates must be highly motivated and possess excellent academic credentials along with superior communication skills. Membership to the State Bar of the office of the state in which the candidate expects to be located is required.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is between $235,000 and $435,000.

Orrick is committed to providing a comprehensive, competitive, and thoughtful total compensation package to our attorneys and staff, wherever they work. This compensation and benefits information is based on the Orrick's estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future. The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include, but not limited to, qualifications, relevant experience or education, particular skills or expertise, geography. Other compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus, which would be determined by Firm and individual performance.
