Technical Business Analyst - Developer Experience

This is a 12-month, full-time (40 hours/week), hybrid contract role located in Culver City, CA or Cupertino, CA.

Summary

We are seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst with a strong focus on Developer Experience to translate business needs into technical execution for internal web applications and services. This role sits at the intersection of product, engineering, and operations, helping shape both what is built and how it is built to optimize engineering workflows and outcomes.

Our Ideal Candidate

• 5+ years of experience in technical business analysis, technical product management, or software development
  
• Passion for developer experience and software development with a strong foundation in full-stack technologies
  
• Proficient in PHP (Laravel), Python (FastAPI), and JavaScript (React & Express), with strong technical analysis and documentation skills
  
• Familiar with RESTful APIs, PostgreSQL, OpenAPI/Swagger, Agile methodologies, and modern architectural patterns
  
• Skilled in collaborating with engineering, product, design, and cross-functional stakeholders
  
• Able to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  
• Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities, timelines, and stakeholder needs
  
• Strong written and verbal communication with exceptional attention to detail
  
• Experience with gap analysis, technical audits, and translating ambiguous business needs into actionable requirements
  

Job Description

In this role, you will take ownership of business and product requirements, conducting gap analyses and translating them into clear, actionable technical specifications.

You'll partner with engineering, product, design, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions. This includes writing detailed user stories with technical acceptance criteria, defining API integrations, modeling data schemas, and ensuring alignment with system architecture.

You will also support ongoing documentation, tooling, and process improvements, helping maintain internal systems and enhance the developer experience across the organization.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  
• Background in software development, systems analysis, or technical product management
  
• Preferred experience with API tools (Postman, Swagger), CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and automated testing frameworks

• This opportunity is located in Culver City, CA or Cupertino, CA and requires hybrid work
  
• The pay for this W-2 position is $79.97 in Culver City, CA &$86.13 per hour in Cupertino, CA.
  
• This position may be eligible for PTO, health and dental insurance, and/or 401(k) benefits upon meeting certain length of service and hours requirements
