Position Description:
Provide manufacturing systems, process and task support to our manufacturing facilities associated with all things Teamcenter, MBOM development, change management support and MRP Planning. This will include communicating with SCM, Engineering, Finance, Contracts, Program Office for status, guidance, issue resolution and support associated to these processes.
  • In-depth understanding of Teamcenter, MRP planning and MBOM development support to manufacturing facilities
  • In-depth understanding of MRP planning mythologies as related to MBOM structure and attributed development.
  • In-depth understand of our plant capabilities to support make / buy coordination and execution including new design release line-up
  • In-depth understanding of Configuration Management processes as related to manufacturing- Represent Manufacturing on Configuration Control Boards when required
  • In-depth understanding of electrical or mechanical drawings and models
  • The ability to support required Audits including, but not limited to: Customer DCMA MBOM accuracy control, Physical Configuration, DCAA make /buy, Corporate MMAS audits, and internal and external quality audits
  • Support proposal development
  • Support manufacturing and divisional process improvement initiatives
  • Support capital requirements for manufacturing equipment and the development and incorporation of advanced manufacturing process improvements

Position Requirements:
  • Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) is required; additional graduate-level degree in Management and/or Business Administration is preferred
  • Considerable knowledge of manufacturing capabilities is required, and previous plant experience is preferred
  • Substantial awareness of GDLS products, Customers, competitors, and internal operations
  • Excellent leadership and decision-making, with the ability to function in a team-based environment
  • Comfortable briefing complex topics to high-level audiences, including top Leadership at GD Land Systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently in a self-motivated environment
  • Capable of frequent interface with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Production, Finance, Contracts, Customers, suppliers, and other organizations
  • Established skills in technical leadership, project execution, and conflict management - with proven competency in effective problem solving and decision making
  • Knowledgeable on a wide range of applicable process technologies, including how and where to leverage them for improving efficiency, quality, safety, and performance
  • Ability to analyze processes for efficiency, manpower demands, equipment requirements, and recommended improvements
  • Capable of reviewing designs in a CAD system (Pro-E preferred), including interrogating models and drawings to evaluate dimensions and tolerances, as well as Design-for-Manufacturing (DFM) improvement opportunities a plus
  • Strong computer skills with Window-based PC systems & applicable software (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teamcenter, Oracle, etc)
  • Knowledgeable of military specifications and requirements applicable to GDLS manufacturing operations - including DoD Acquisition Framework (Milestones, MRLs, CDRLs, etc.) preferred
  • Willing to travel when needed; valid passport for international travel is preferred
