Job Description

As a Security Officer with Allied Universal at a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a professional visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, and support staff, patients, and visitors with strong customer service and clear communication. You will complete routine rounds, respond to requests, and document observations while working as part of a team that is agile, reliable, innovative, and guided by integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation and coordinating with clinical staff and/or local responders as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including interior corridors, lobbies, parking areas, and the perimeter, noting unusual activity and reporting concerns per post orders.
  • Monitor access points and help manage visitor entry and staff access in accordance with facility rules, including checking identification, issuing visitor passes, and documenting entries when required.
  • Complete shift logs and incident reports, communicate status updates to Allied Universal supervision and site contacts, and assist with maintaining security-related equipment and key control procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • This is a hospital post where vaccines are required.
  • This is a hospital post that includes a morgue.
  • The client requires proof of high school diploma and/or GED.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Have 1 or more years of law enforcement experience or 2 or more years of security supervisor and/or manager experience or 3 or more years of security experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
