In the Space Planning & Experience Design Intern - Innovation & Technology Center position, you'll help bring to life a reimagined Innovation & Technology Center by translating vision into tangible, engaging environments. You'll partner closely with the Managing Director to research, design, and support the creation of immersive spaces-including an education area and innovation lab-that help customers explore industry trends, define business challenges, and discover practical solutions. This role offers hands-on experience in spatial design, exhibit development, and customer-centered innovation while contributing to meaningful, real-world environments. What You'll Do and Impact:
Partner with the Managing Director to support the vision and execution of a reimagined Innovation & Technology Center Research design trends, materials, layouts, and interactive experiences that enhance how customers engage with complex topics Contribute to the design of the education space, including exhibits and hands-on experiences that make industry trends tangible Support the development of innovation lab environments that guide customers through identifying challenges and exploring solutions Create preliminary drawings, layouts, renderings, and presentation materials to communicate design concepts and user experiences Assist with project coordination, documentation, and organization of design assets and materials Research building codes, life safety requirements, and design standards to support implementation readiness Help shape environments that demonstrate Direct Supply's commitment to solving real problems in senior health
Experience:
Currently pursuing a degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, Experience Design, Exhibition Design, Environmental Design, or a related field Expected graduation date of May 2027 or later Availability to work 15-20 hours per week during the academic year Ability to work full-time during summer and academic breaks
Additional Items of Interest:
Previous internship or experience in design, architecture, or customer-facing environments Exposure to exhibit design, experiential design, or innovation spaces Familiarity with senior living or healthcare environments
