Position Overview:

As a Senior Branch Member Account Specialist (Sr BMAS), you serve as a knowledgeable and trusted resource for members and branch teams. You handle more complex account needs, provide support with escalations, and assist members with account setup, maintenance, and lending followup.

As a float role, you primarily support the Syracuse branch while providing planned, local coverage at nearby branches when needed to ensure consistent service and operational stability.

This is a noncommissioned, branchbased role focused on experience, problemsolving, and reliability rather than sales pressure.

What This Role Is-and Is Not

This role is ideal for someone who:



  • Has experience handling a broad range of member account needs
  • Is comfortable supporting escalations and more complex scenarios
  • Enjoys serving as a dependable, experienced presence across branch teams


This role is not:



  • A commissiononly sales position
  • A fulltime loan officer or mortgage originator role
  • A role requiring daily or constant travel between branches


Key Responsibilities



  • Serve as a primary point of contact for members regarding account needs, questions, and escalations
  • Assist members with opening and servicing consumer, business, and IRA accounts
  • Resolve accountrelated concerns and provide general credit union information
  • Intake and follow up on consumer loan applications (excluding residential mortgage lending)
  • Rotate through branch duties, including Member Service Representative (tellerstyle) activities
  • Support branch continuity by providing scheduled coverage at nearby locations as needed
  • Act on notary requests once credentialed
  • Identify appropriate products and services to support members' financial needs


Schedule & Location



  • FullTime
  • Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-5:30 PM, with rotating Saturday mornings (8:30 AM-12:30 PM)
  • Based at the Syracuse Branch (500 Erie Blvd W.)
  • Float coverage is local, planned, and periodic, intended to support branch operations


Compensation

$21.00 - $25.50 per hour
(Hiring rate based on experience, education, geographic location, and relevant skills)

Qualifications

Required



  • High school diploma or equivalent with 1-3 years of relevant experience
  • Strong customer service, communication, and problemsolving skills
  • Comfort working with standard office technology and systems


Preferred



  • Associate degree
  • 2-4 years of experience in banking, financial services, retail, or customerfacing roles
  • Bilingual in Spanish


Training & Credentials



  • Notary license to be obtained within one year of hire (training and support provided)
  • Prior notary experience is beneficial but not required at the time of application
