We are seeking a skilled Fiber Cable Technician to install, test, and maintain fiber optic infrastructure for local businesses and multi-dwelling units (MDUs) such as apartment complexes. This role plays a critical part in delivering high-speed, reliable connectivity by ensuring fiber networks are built to quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities * Install, route, and terminate fiber optic cabling (aerial, underground, and inside plant) * Perform fiber splicing, testing, and troubleshooting using OTDRs, power meters, and related tools * Set up and connect fiber infrastructure for commercial buildings and apartment complexes Required Qualifications * 1+ years of experience in cable, fiber, or telecommunications installation (fiber preferred) * Knowledge of fiber optic cabling, connectors, and splicing methods Preferred Qualifications * Fiber splicing experience (fusion or mechanical) * Experience working in MDUs or commercial environments * Certifications such as ETA, BICSI, or FOA (a plus, not required) What We Offer * Competitive pay based on experience * Ongoing training and opportunities to grow fiber expertise * Company vehicle, tools, and equipment (if applicable) Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Moines, IA.
