Clojure Developer (Serverless \| AWS \| Functional Programming) Employment Type: Full-Time Employee Only Industry: Financial Services / Technology Are you passionate about functional programming and excited by the opportunity to build a highimpact, firstofitskind application in the financial services space? We're partnering with a leading national financial organization to hire a* Clojure Developer* who will help build and support a missioncritical system designed to assist homeowners in navigating mortgage assistance programs. This is a unique opportunity to work on a dynamic Q&A-driven decisioning platform used by both internal teams and customerfacing channels. If you love solving complex problems, influencing architectural decisions, and working with modern serverless technologies - this role is for you. What You'll Do * Design, develop, and maintain applications using a modern technology stack including Clojure, Python, TypeScript, and AWS services. * Build and enhance a dynamic decisioning system that adapts to user input in real time. * Apply BDD/TDD methodologies to ensure highquality, resilient software. * Prepare applications for deployment and support production environments. * Collaborate in an Agile team setting, partnering with Product Owners, engineers, and business stakeholders. * Handle small projects independently while contributing to larger team initiatives. What You'll Bring Required Skills * Significant professional experience with Clojure or another functional programming language * (e.g., Scala, Haskell, Elixir, Common Lisp, Julia). * Strong experience with Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar dynamic languages. * Experience building UIs with React.js or a similar frontend framework. * Solid understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, etc.). * Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly. * Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative, teamfocused environment. Preferred / Nice-to-Have * Handson experience working with AWS serverless (Lambda, SQS, Step Functions). * Experience integrating serverless frameworks using Python Lambda functions. * Hands-on work in FinTech or financial services. * Strong grasp of software design patterns and best practices. * Experience working in a fullstack capacity. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Agoura Hills, CA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $65.00 - $73.33/hr.
