We are searching for a cyber security project manager for a large enterprise client. The Cybersecurity Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering cybersecurity initiatives across the organization. This role partners closely with security, IT, engineering, risk, compliance, and business stakeholders to ensure security projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with organizational risk and regulatory requirements. The Cybersecurity Project Manager combines traditional project management expertise with a strong understanding of cybersecurity concepts, controls, and regulatory frameworks.
*Job Duties:* * Lead the end-to-end management of complex infrastructure and security projects, including cloud migrations, security tool rollouts, network upgrades, and compliance initiatives. * Define project scope, objectives, timelines, resource plans, and budgets in collaboration with stakeholders and technical teams. * Manage risks, issues, and changes proactively, ensuring minimal disruption to operations and maximum alignment with business priorities. * Oversee implementation and upgrades of network, server, and storage infrastructure, ensuring alignment with availability, scalability, and security standards. * Support cybersecurity programs such as IAM, SIEM integration, endpoint protection, firewall deployments, vulnerability remediation, and compliance (e.g., NIST, ISO, SOC 2). * Collaborate with cloud architects and security engineers on hybrid and cloud-native solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP) and secure infrastructure-as-code initiatives. * Stakeholder Engagement & Communication * Serve as the liaison between technical teams and business units, translating technical concepts into business impact. * Provide regular project updates, dashboards, and reports to IT leadership and executive stakeholders. * Facilitate project meetings, task tracking, and documentation to maintain transparency and accountability across teams * Process Improvement & Governance * Apply project management best practices (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches) and champion standardized methodologies across infrastructure and security projects. * Contribute to post-project reviews and lessons-learned documentation to drive continuous improvement. * Support governance activities, including audit readiness, compliance tracking, and policy enforcement. *Preferred Certifications & qualifications:* * OSWE, GWAPT, CSSLP, or similar application security certifications. * Familiarity with threat modeling tools (e.g., OWASP Threat Dragon, Microsoft Threat Modeling Tool). *Required Qualifications:* * 5+ years of project management experience, with at least 2+ years focused on IT infrastructure and/or cybersecurity projects. * Proven track record of managing enterprise-scale projects across cloud, network, server, and security domains. * Strong familiarity with cybersecurity concepts and tools (firewalls, DLP, SIEM, IAM, endpoint security). * Experience working with infrastructure teams on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and traditional data center technologies. *Secondary Skills - Nice to Haves* * Infrastructure * Risk management * OSWE, GWAPT, CSSLP, or similar application security certifications. * Familiarity with threat modeling tools (e.g., OWASP Threat Dragon, Microsoft Threat Modeling Tool). *Job Type & Location* This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Irvine, CA. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $80.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
