Job Overview Our healthcare client is seeking an experienced *IT Project Manager* to support technology, infrastructure, and clinical expansion initiatives across its Long Island facilities. This role is critical in translating construction- and facilities-driven inputs into clearly defined IT scopes of work that are fully documented, within budget, and aligned with organizational standards.
This position is ideal for a technically grounded project manager who takes ownership of scope development-not someone who simply executes predefined tasks. The successful candidate will partner closely with construction, facilities, and clinical stakeholders to shape IT requirements, delivery approaches, and budget alignment for new clinical spaces and infrastructure projects. The Project Manager will collaborate with construction teams, IT engineering groups, clinical leadership, and external vendors to ensure technology solutions are properly scoped, documented, and delivered to support patient care and operational needs. Key Responsibilities IT Scope & Budget Development * Receive project inputs from construction and facilities teams and develop comprehensive IT scopes of work. * Translate construction plans and clinical requirements into clear, actionable IT deliverables. * Define infrastructure, systems, and technology needs for new builds, renovations, and departmental expansions. * Ensure all IT work is appropriately scoped, budgeted, and supported by detailed documentation. * Identify risks, gaps, dependencies, and assumptions early to mitigate downstream issues. Project Management & Execution * Lead multiple concurrent IT and infrastructure projects across Long Island facilities. * Support clinical build-outs, including new department openings, renovations, and technology deployments. * Conduct onsite assessments and site surveys to evaluate existing infrastructure, readiness, and constraints. * Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and status reports. * Track milestones, risks, and issues through project completion. Technical & Infrastructure Coordination * Partner with technical teams to support implementations involving: * Networking and telecommunications (TCOM) * Desktop and end-user device deployments * SCCM-based provisioning and configuration * Structured cabling and IT infrastructure * Coordinate internal IT teams and external vendors to ensure timely, compliant delivery. Reporting & Stakeholder Management * Produce clear project documentation, status updates, and dashboards using Microsoft tools and Power BI. * Communicate effectively with clinicians, IT teams, construction partners, vendors, and leadership. * Ensure projects adhere to organizational standards, compliance requirements, and operational best practices. Onsite Support * Provide onsite project support at the primary hospital location and other Long Island sites as required. * Be present during key phases including site assessments, installations, cutovers, and go-lives. Required Qualifications * Proven experience developing IT project scopes of work for construction- or facilities-driven initiatives. * Hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas: * Telecommunications (TCOM) * Networking * Desktop / End-User Support * Cabling and IT Infrastructure * Healthcare, clinical, or regulated environment experience strongly preferred. * Familiarity with SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager). * Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams). * Experience with Power BI or similar reporting and visualization tools. * Demonstrated ability to conduct site surveys and produce detailed technical documentation. * Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills. * Ability to work onsite at least three days per week and travel across Long Island as needed. Ideal Candidate Profile You are a proactive, technically savvy project manager who understands how IT supports clinical environments and physical build-outs. You are comfortable reviewing construction plans, walking sites, asking the right questions, and defining what technology is truly required-not simply reacting to requests. You bring a disciplined approach to scope development, budgeting, documentation, and delivery, ensuring IT projects directly support patient care and operational success. *Job Type & Location*This is a Contract position based out of Patchogue, NY. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $75.00/hr.
