The ASC partners with local and central units to provide efficient and consistent support for administrative operations across the Institute.
Job Summary
Provide project/program leadership and support for information technology project teams - from project initiation to completion. Assignments are typically small projects or associated components of mid- to large scale projects related to implementing new or revised information management systems. Teams are comprised of technical experts, functional area subject matter experts and project managers. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: project team members, department heads and managers within OIT and other academic and business offices across campus; contractors and consultants. This position typically will advise and counsel: principal and lead project managers and department heads. This position will supervise: NA (project/program leadership only).
Responsibilities
Job Duty 1 - Supervise personnel and activities related to the audio visual design on project site.
Job Duty 2 - Work with the customer to acquire a thorough understanding of project requirements and objectives including, but not limited to: contractual, financial, technical, schedule, construction coordination, materials, personnel, and scope of work. Work with departments to obtain and read all contract documents including, but not limited to: bid drawings and specifications, contract, project workbook, subcontractor scopes of work, and construction schedule. Development of designs that meet end-client functional and budgetary requirements. Creating functional and connection-level drawings/design for video, audio, control, LAN and communications subsystems, including preparation of drawings and documentation.
Job Duty 3 - Participate or facilitate internal project kick-off meeting with key participants, including the customer, engineers, installation teams and other applicable personnel.
Job Duty 4 - Coordinate all activities associated with audio visual project execution, including but not limited to: submittals, audio visual design engineering, installation, and programming, commissioning, testing and troubleshooting.
Job Duty 5 - Create and manage the schedule for all assigned projects and provide those schedules to management. Coordinate activities with general contractor, construction manager, owner and other trades as required, as it is related to audio visual designs. Provide regular reports of job progress to all stakeholders. Assist with, or facilitate, the ordering of materials upon approval of design-build projects.
Job Duty 6 - Manage and monitor the labor expenditures of integration and installation personnel over the course of the project and communicate (upward) any issues that impact the budget allocation.
Job Duty 7 - Work with approved vendors and qualified subcontractors to solicit quotes that will meet the design specifications, making sure to work within the policies and guidelines identified by the state of Georgia and Georgia Institute of Technology. Job Duty 8 - Generate and/or respond to construction communications including, but not limited to: requests for information, any and all design documentation, change order documents, room readiness reports, or any delays which could impact completion date. This would also include punch-list items, field reports, sign-off documents or other supporting documentation. Job Duty 9 - Proactively manage the change order process, when a change in approved design is necessary. Regularly inspect installation work performed by staff and/or subcontractors. Test, or certify the performance of, installed systems and coordinate turn-over of project to the Audio Visual Support group at the end of each project, prior to coordinating and/or providing training to client. Job Duty 10 - Perform other duties as assigned

Educational Requirements Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Additional Preferred Qualifications Project Management Professional (PMP), CTS-Design, CTS-Installation, and/or other manufacturer certifications. This position is ON-SITE The IT Project Manager Audio Visual Systems is an experienced IT Project Manager and Audio Visual Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for planning, executing, and closing complex technology projects that support instructional, research, and administrative environments. This role provides full lifecycle project leadership while applying a seasoned understanding of AV system design, engineering, and system integration to ensure high quality, operationally sustainable outcomes. Projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget, and in alignment with institutional standards and stakeholder expectations. Key Responsibilities Plan, coordinate, and manage all phases of AV and technology projects, including requirements gathering, AV design and engineering, installation, commissioning, testing, and closeout. Apply deep AV subject matter expertise to translate functional and business requirements into technically sound, scalable audio visual designs and implementation plans. Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, and documentation; provide regular status reporting to leadership and stakeholders. Serve as the primary point of coordination among customers, AV engineers, installation teams, contractors, vendors, and support organizations. Manage scope, risks, and change through formal change control processes, including evaluation and execution of design and field changes. Track labor, material, and overall project expenditures; identify and escalate budget or schedule risks as needed. Coordinate procurement activities and vendor engagements in compliance with Georgia Tech and State of Georgia policies. Ensure quality assurance through inspection, testing, and verification of installed AV systems against design and performance standards. Manage project closeout, including documentation, system acceptance, turnover to support teams, and end user training.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
SKILLS This job requires advanced knowledge in engineering design and project management as related to audio visual solutions. Advanced skills in design, installation of electronic equipment; preparing and reading blueprints, drawings and schematics and electronics assembly and soldering techniques are required. Ability to provide work guidance to others is also required. Exemplify exceptional communication, organization and leadership skills with strong experience in the integration of audio visual, video conferencing and closely related technologies.
