Requirements
- Minimum 1-3 years Development Coordinator or similar work experience required.
- Experience in development, nonprofit fundraising, or related field with a demonstrated record of success in individual and corporate giving, human services (intellectual and developmental disabilities division) and/or event planning is a plus.
- Organizational and analytical skills to manage multiple projects on varied timelines.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, with significant experience of the entire process of drafting and finalizing communications.
- Strong people skills and a proven record of working effectively with a diverse array of stakeholders.
- Ability to communicate and engage with the people supported by Merakey.
- High energy level, keen sense of initiative, enthusiasm, professionalism, accountability, flexibility, transparency, and discretion.
- Collaborative, accountable, flexible, and diplomatic.
- Ability to work independently without close supervision.
- Proficiency with Microsoft suite of programs, Teams; understanding of Salesforce and Smartsheet a plus.

Shift: Monday - Thursday 8:00-4:30pm
*Occasional evening and weekend hours are required to support donor events, networking opportunities, and other community activities as they arise.
Position details:
The Development Coordinator plays an important role in supporting community involvement, fundraising efforts, and raising awareness of the organization's programs and accomplishments. This position works closely with program leadership, donors, families, and individuals supported by the organization to help build strong relationships and encourage community engagement. The Development Coordinator helps represent the organization at events and works to build positive, lasting partnerships.
The Development Coordinator will:
Provide comprehensive administrative and operational support to the Development team, including managing confidential information, preparing reports, reconciling expenses, scheduling, and maintaining donor databases and restricted funding records, in partnership with accounting/finance, administrators, and other teams as needed.
Support fundraising initiatives by processing and acknowledging donations, coordinating donor communications, and assisting with major annual events and campaigns.
Plan and coordinate community and donor events, including evening and weekend activities, while representing the organization at networking and community engagements.
Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments (finance, programs, communications, and leadership) to support organization-wide development and engagement efforts.
Conduct research and data analysis to inform business development strategies and generate actionable insights.
Develop and distribute communications content, including newsletters, event materials, and donor correspondence; manage photo/video permissions and media assets.
Build and maintain positive relationships with donors, corporate partners, community organizations, and volunteers to expand engagement and partnership opportunities
