What to Expect
The ServiceDesignEngineering teamis responsible fordesign-to-production of custom serviceand commissioningtooling/sustaining solutionstoassistin the rapid development and maintenance of Telsa's Energy storage and charging solutions. This skilled and motivated individual will keep pushing theevolving energy industry forward byarchitecting hardware solutions that drive end user efficiency,developingFMEA analysis to drive rapid decision making, andlaunching designs through pilots until in full mid volume manufacturing.

What You'll Do
  • Own and drive hardware validation efforts forbothlow-voltage toolingAND MV tooling, becoming an expert on subsystems and simplifying troubleshooting through custom interfacing

  • Develop andmaintainautomation-focused test software to streamline execution, data collection, and analysis

  • Design and build custom test equipment, including test PCBAs, harnesses, and fixtures, to enhance service efficiency, safety, and repeatability

  • Manage tests from setup through execution, coordinatingresourcesand owning validation schedules to keep program managers informed

  • Partner with design teams, reliability experts, and suppliers to root-cause test failures and implement corrective actions

  • Collaborate with test and field technicians tovalidatecomponents by simulating realistic or accelerated usage and environmental conditions

  • Leadsubteamsof engineers and technicians in dissecting, investigating, and resolving complex issues related to computing hardware


What You'll Bring
  • 2+ years of experience in electrical panel design, wiring diagrams, harness design and layout, off-the-shelf part specification and integration

  • Experience in circuit board design and electrical CAD management (preferably in Altium)

  • Experience in electrical-mechanical design integration

  • Strong understanding ofcomponent selection, power budgeting, power dissipation, and thermal management

  • Proficiencyin high-level C/C++ programming for microcontrollersinterfacing withcustom hardware

  • Experience designing and working with digital communication buses (e.g., CAN, Ethernet, RS-485, USB, SPI, I2C)

  • Solid knowledge of key analog components, including MOSFETs, op-amps, switching regulators, and gate drivers

    Expected Compensation
    $91,600 - $164,400/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
