Here's what you'd do:

  • This position is for a Project Engineer leading Columbia development Programs within the MPES Engineering organization.
  • The role leads multi-disciplinary engineering teams in the proposal, design, development, and delivery of next-generation products.
  • As an integral part of our fast-paced environment, the ideal candidate is a key decision-maker, leader, mentor, and motivator for their engineering team.
  • Key interface between the Engineering team and the Program Management departments
  • Ensures all technical performance, cost, and schedule goals on the program are met
  • Acting as an advisor to senior management and customers on advanced technical studies and applications
  • Identifying and managing program technical risks
  • Establishing schedule, resource, budget, and tool requirements for tasks
  • Ensuring engineering processes are followed on projects.

Job Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED with 10 years of experience
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in developing, proposing, managing, implementing, and testing products and system solutions in power systems or related fields, including:
    1. Naval power or power conversion systems
    2. Military production products with complex electro-mechanical assemblies
    3. Production product lifecycle management
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in temperature, humidity, shock, and vibration testing and certification
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in leadership and direct participation in technical proposal development, cost estimation, and manpower planning
  • Minimum 1 year of DOD engineering development experience
  • Minimum 1 year of Requirements analysis and definition experience
  • Minimum 1 year of EVM/CAM experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Systems or Electrical or Mechanical or Computer Engineering or Mathematics or Computer Science with 6 years of experience
  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or Software Engineering with 4 years of experience
  • Experience in the use of Product Development Process and methodologies ISO 9001 compliant processes)
  • Agile Development Methodology (HW/SW)
  • Effective presentation and communication skills
  • Development program leadership experience
  • Proposal development
  • IMS creation
  • Familiar with DoD contractor processes
  • Hands-on technical/engineering background.
