This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

As part of a passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will help in the testing of Engines for various Vehicle configurations. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of aerospace manufacturing while working with the team to keep the shop functioning at a high level. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention toward safe and repeatable spaceflight

We are looking for someone motivated, dedicated and driven to apply their technical expertise to help make a positive impact to safe Human Spaceflight.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Perform hands on maintenance or modifications to Engines.
  • Perform scheduled inspections on Tested/Qualified Engines.
  • Handling and transportation of Engines from Test stand to engine processing facility.
  • Perform engine tooling maintenance and inspections.
  • Perform sophisticated tubing fabrication using schematics and engineering direction.
  • Interact and work with Test/Design Engineers every day.
  • Travel to test sites to support mission at least 15% of the year.
  • Safely working with hazardous chemicals, cryogenics, and high-pressure systems
  • Ability to utilize interpersonal and communication techniques, working in a team environment, and taking care of a wide variety of personalities and communication styles.
  • Perform tasks individually assigned from leadership for the benefit of the engines team.
  • Maintain a healthy and motivated Team environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Passion for our mission: Millions of people living and working in space!
  • Experience using electronic work order systems.
  • Experience working high pressure gaseous and Cryogenic systems related to Rocket Engine Testing
  • Test stand experience working combustion or dynamic systems.
  • Able to gain access to Redstone Arsenal.
  • Has a valid Driver's License.
  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • Ability to follow schematics or electrical diagrams.
  • Ability to use Calibrated tooling such as Torque Wrenches, Multimeters, Dew Point Meters, Depth Gauges, Borescopes etc.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs., work in adverse weather conditions, and climb stairs/ladders
  • Lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position
  • Must be willing to work all required shift hours, including overtime and weekends, as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years' experience with Production on launch vehicle processing for flight operations to include Launch and Recovery Ops, Rocket and or Crew capsule system Maintenance, Integration and Test.
  • A&P license, Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) certification or training. Associate degree in an engineering, technical, or mechanical field
  • Test stand Build experience.
  • Able to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced and challenging work environment.
  • Experience operating aerial lifts, scissor lifts and any vehicles used for at height maintenance.

  • Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.

  • Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
