Responsibilities

The Business and Project Analyst Reports to the Pre-Arrival Services Director and is responsible for guiding processes, improvement projects, and ensuring optimization of productivity in Pre-Arrival Services by doing in-dept analysis of authorization trends, oversee payor policy and procedure changes within pre-certification department, as well as communicate and validate requirements for authorization changes. Responsible for ensuring efficiency of pre-certification processes. Serve as a liaison between patient and medical support staff. Develop project plans and manage all implemented processes. Assessing skills and identifying training needs of authorization team members. Manage the overall coordination, status reporting, schedules, and stability of project-oriented work efforts, ensures that project goals and objectives are met within agreed upon time, and resource requirements for authorization.


Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Preferred some college

Experience: Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a medical setting. Previous precertification experience preferred.

Working Knowledge: Medical terminology and medical insurance knowledge required. Knowledge of EPIC scheduling, pre-cert/authorizations, and registration systems preferred. Must be proficient on a personal computer and have experience with Microsoft Office including Excel and Word.
