  Position Description: ThinkTek is seeking a highly motivated Senior Systems Engineer to support enterprise-level initiatives across a dynamic defense organization. The ideal candidate will support cross-functional program execution, strategic integration activities, data-driven decision support, and stakeholder coordination to enable mission success. This role serves as the bridge between leadership, program teams, and stakeholders ensuring alignment of strategy, activities, communication, and delivery milestones.

  Key Responsibilities:

  Engineering Documentation & Configuration Management

  
  
  
  
  • Develop, maintain, and update engineering-related documentation in accordance with established policies, standards, and guidelines.
  
  
  
  
  • Maintain alignment with systems design and business objectives.
  
  
  
  
  • Draft technical documents and provide expert input into required engineering deliverables.
  
  
  
  

  Systems Engineering & Architecture

  
  
  
  
  • Review, manage, and update system engineering architectures to ensure infrastructure supports the solution throughout its lifecycle (fielding, operations, and maintenance).
  
  
  
  
  • Ensure requirements traceability.
  
  
  
  
  • Provide professional technical advice and recommendations regarding computing environments and engineering activities.
  
  
  
  

  Cloud Services Management

  
  
  
  
  • Provide recommendations on best practices for cloud environment design and operation.
  
  
  
  

  Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  
  
  
  
  • Facilitate and Support systems engineering technical meetings by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist in defining, developing, and maintaining engineering strategies, plans, and schedules.
  • Facilitate coordination across engineering, operations, and program management teams.
  
  
  
  

  Risk & Issue Management

  
  
  
  
  • Identify system risks early and to lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA).

  • Skills & Competencies:
  
  
  
  
  • Must have experience in configuration management and technical baseline maintenance.
  
  
  
  
  
  
  • Ability to provide subject matter expert (SME) input during working level meetings.
  
  
  
  
  
  
  • Familiarity with Marine Corps, DoD business processes, policies, and/or IT systems.
  
  
  
  
  
  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  
  
  
  
  • Clearance:
  
  
  
  
  • Minimum Active Top-Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility
  
  
  
  
  • Education & Experience:
  
  
  
  
  • Education: Bachelor's degree (in Computer Science, System's Engineering, or related technical field).
  • Experience: 8+ years of experience in systems engineering ideally supporting federal or defense programs.
  
  
  
  
  
  

  Desired:

  
  
  
  
  • Personnel are also well-versed in DoD systems engineering policies and practices, including those outlined in the DoD 5000-series and applicable MCSC guidance.
  
  
  
  International Council of Systems Engineering (INCOSE) or Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) certification
