What to Expect
As a Tesla Tool Install Foreman role, you will play a crucial role in new construction and building improvements at the Sparks Factory and surrounding facilities. You will be responsible for safety and general labor duties. Completion and documenting safety workplace examinations. This is a physically demanding job working within production areas inside and outside, requiring walking and standing all day, as well as bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing ladders and lying on the ground intermittently throughout the day. Occasional work in wet environments inside or outside of the building. In addition, you will at times wear a fall protection harness while working from heights or from a suspended position. Work weeks can extend to six-day work weeks with minimal notice due to demand (shutdowns/line failures/emergencies), this includes working holidays, so a flexible schedule change is a plus. Tool Install Technicians must be able to lift up to 50lbs and utilize hand tools and power tools.
What You'll Do
Collaborate with Tool Install Management on construction projects, covering scopes like demolition, installations, fabrications, painting, and more - Engage in daily activities, including loading/unloading materials, operating tools, and distributing items to appropriate locations
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and mobile equipment, with training and certifications provided
- Demonstrate familiarity with materials and consult manuals for permanent equipment installation
- Survey and layout equipment/structures, perform tasks beyond core competency, and adapt to evolving company needs
Communicate Management's project expectations to the Field
What You'll Bring
Minimum of 5 years' experience in construction or facilities, including tenant improvement, remodel, new construction, and facility services - Strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to comprehend work orders and project descriptions
- Capability to complete tasks beyond core competencies as required, with a focus on quality architectural work
- Proficient in job site safety, evaluating hazards, and conducting pre-work task planning
- Ability to work at heights up to 80 ft. and strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration at all management levels
- Experience interpreting architectural drawings, details, and specifications is advantageous
- Physical agility for activities such as climbing, lifting, balancing, and handling materials; willingness to work off shifts as needed
