A Mortgage Closing/Operations Support Specialist is responsible for assisting and supporting multiple roles across the mortgage team. This position will assist in the timely and accurate preparation of final closing loan documents. This includes inputting and validating data to ensure accurate final calculations and loan information, reviewing and addressing title issues prior to closing, and personally handling the loan from the initial Closing Disclosure to document preparation and funding. This role will also provide additional coverage and support for multiple functions throughout mortgage operations that cover early disclosures, adverse action review, funding, and post-closing.

The ideal candidate is detail oriented, analytical and possesses strong written, verbal, and organizational skills. They should be comfortable communicating effectively and in a professional manner. This candidate should enjoy a diverse role with opportunities to participate in a broad range of operational support roles in mortgage. Additionally, they should be and stay current with industry guidelines updates.

Essential Duties:



  1. Communicate effectively while serving as liaison between client and settlement agent (as required). Proactively find and rectify any problems and obtain any documentation required to complete the loan process.
  2. Review and validate all loans data and accurately input it into mortgage origination system(s) to prepare the closing documents.
  3. Prepare and review final closing packages and Closing Disclosures for delivery to investor and settlement agent.
  4. Verify the accurate completion of disbursement funds, signatures, and loan packages.
  5. Review all pre-closing documents to ensure compliance with guidelines, such as contract, hazard insurance and all other required documents.
  6. Release closing documents to the settlement agents
  7. Review closing conditions, signatures on documents and clear closing conditions once condition is met.
  8. Authorize funding of loan.
  9. Assist branch with closing related questions.
  10. Assist with other loan closer's pipeline when volume requires.
  11. Assist in resolving any post-closing issues as needed.
  12. Approve the CD by working closely with the title company and requesting the necessary changes if applicable to ensure the loan meets guidelines and stays compliant.
  13. Prepare documents and closing instructions for various lenders on loan types including: BOND, VA, FHA, ARM, TXHE, TX A6, 50(f)(2) Conventional, USDA, and Texas Cash Outs.
  14. Review, balance, correct and approve CDs for all loan types
  15. Prepare Early Disclosures including the LE
  16. Monitor the Adverse Action Dashboard and complete Adverse Action Notices
  17. Support Post-Closing and assist in the clearing of investor conditions at delivery
  18. Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company.
  19. Able and willing to work overtime as needed, as well as occasional weekends.
  20. Perform other duties and projects as assigned or requested
