DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Administration and Management Trainee, you will gain valuable skills and experience enabling you to perform professional analytical human resource work in the following human resource programs: Accident and Injury Prevention (Safety), State Employee Assistance Program (SEAP), Workplace Violence (WPV), and Employee Performance (standards, reviews, and improvement plans). You will have the opportunity to collaborate with agency supervisors, managers, as well as other HR Office staff to discuss issues, explore options, deliver solutions, and explain decisions. Responsibilities include:
- Coordinating employee safety committees, investigating safety concerns and workplace accidents/injuries, conducting analysis of accident data, recommending actions for the prevention of accidents/injuries, and supporting emergency evacuation planning/implementation
- Performing Workplace Violence (WPV) Coordinator functions and responsibilities
- Overseeing the Department performance management program
- Working with supervisors and managers to develop performance standards and performance improvement plans

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are negotiable between 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60 or 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree, including 15 credits in public administration, business administration, or a closely related field; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes 15 credits in public administration, business administration, or a closely related field.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
Other Requirements:
