The targeted hiring range for this full-time position is $142,700 - $192,600 depending on qualifications; however, the expanded salary range provides opportunities for advancement. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and job location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, competencies, experience, and relevant education, training or a combination of these things and market demand. Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Director of Global Safety & Security to lead the development and execution of a comprehensive global strategy for Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and Physical Security across all Red Wing Shoe Company (RWSC) locations. This role is responsible for shaping a strong, preventionfocused culture and ensuring that the safety and security of our employees remains our highest priority.

In this position, you will establish global policies, standards, and frameworks that strengthen operational resilience, regulatory compliance, and risk prevention. You will guide the design of peoplecentered, businessaligned safety and security solutions in close partnership with leaders across Supply Chain, Operations, HR, Facilities, and Business Technology. Your leadership will influence every aspect of our global operations, from occupational health and environmental management to workplace violence prevention, threat assessments, and enterprise physical security programs.

You will oversee global risk assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and drive timely corrective and preventive actions with a strong bias for action. This includes building and monitoring performance metrics that inform executive decision making and support continuous improvement. The role also leads global incident response efforts - ensuring coordinated, rapid, and visible leadership during safety or security events, and driving thorough rootcause analyses that lead to sustainable corrective actions.

A key part of this role is capability building. You will coach and guide leaders across regions, strengthening their understanding of EHS and security responsibilities and enabling a culture of shared ownership. You will also partner with business and strategy teams to embed safety and security considerations into facility design, capital investments, and global expansion planning.

As a trusted advisor to executives and global stakeholders, you will provide strategic insights on emerging risks and ensure that RWSC maintains a mature, proactive, and globally consistent approach to safety and security.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience overseeing a comprehensive HSE function, including multisite, regional, or global responsibility.
  • Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Environmental Services, Engineering, Health Sciences, or a related field is a plus, but not required.
  • Advanced safety certifications/designations such as CSP, COSS, CSHO, CSHS (or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing physical security programs, including risk assessments, training, access control systems, surveillance, and incident response.
  • Proven success designing and implementing enterprisewide EHS and security strategies.
  • Experience working in global environments and across diverse cultures and regulatory landscapes.
  • Experience building and leading highperforming EHS and/or security teams.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong knowledge of global EHS regulations, physical security principles, and riskprevention methodologies across diverse operational environments.
  • Strategic thinking skills with the ability to translate safety and security requirements into practical, peoplecentered business solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and partner effectively with leaders across functions and global regions.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities, including interpreting data, identifying trends, and using insights to drive decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead organizational change, build alignment, and strengthen safety/security capability at all levels.
  • Effective leadership skills with the ability to coach, develop, and inspire highperforming teams.
  • Ability to make sound, ethical decisions under pressure and navigate complex, ambiguous situations with clarity.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods while performing officebased work, conducting site tours, and engaging with employees at various locations.
  • Ability to travel globally, which may include long flights, varying time zones, and movement through manufacturing, distribution, and retail environments.
  • Ability to climb stairs, navigate uneven surfaces, and access all areas of facilities, including production floors, warehouses, and outdoor environments.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry materials, equipment, or documents up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) when visiting manufacturing or distribution sites.
  • Visual and auditory acuity necessary to conduct inspections, assess physical security systems, evaluate work environments, and respond to potential safety or security concerns.
  • Ability to remain calm, focused, and mobile during emergency situations or critical incident response activities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Incumbent is required to be located in daily commutable distance toRed Wing, MN to effectively perform the responsibilities of the role, provideproactive leadership and collaboration with stakeholders, and active/onsite responsiveness and root-cause analyses.
  • Travel within the United Stated and internationally will be required for the performance of duties
