Your Job

The Inventory Manager is responsible for overseeing MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) inventory across multiple manufacturing divisions in GP's packaging & cellulose division. This role ensures support of storerooms effectively support operations while driving workingcapital efficiency, reducing waste, and enabling longterm inventory optimization. The Inventory Manager partners closely with plant leadership, operations, procurement, and reliability teams to implement sustainable processes, improve inventory health, and support enterprisewide transformation initiatives.

This is an onsite role at our headquarters, GP Center, in downtown Atlanta and requires ~30% travel.

Our Team

Georgia-Pacific's Strategic Sourcing & Procurement (SS&P) organization is responsible for the strategic category management, sourcing and procurement of the critical supplies and materials that support our facilities. The SS&P organization partners with our business partners and leverages best practices to uniquely position the team to improve decision making capabilities and capture significant savings and efficiency opportunities.

What You Will Do

  • Own MRO inventory levels for assigned divisions, ensuring storerooms support operational reliability while minimizing excess and obsolete stock.
  • Monitor and report Inventory KPIs-reserved/unreserved overmax, stockout risk, picks, putaways, etc.-to leadership, identifying root causes and improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure inventory levels progress toward aligned business targets and longterm bestpractice benchmarks.
  • Conduct periodic plant visits with clear objectives to validate processes, build alignment, and support continuous improvement.
  • Lead min/max optimization cycles, including initial Corrugated optimization and quarterly refreshes.
  • Support adhoc optimization requests, including CTB/CELL adjustments and plantspecific needs.
  • Implement sustainable processes to eliminate future reserves (SLOB, overmax, new stock decisions).
  • Utilize analytical tools and technology to evaluate stock levels, automate decisionmaking, and reduce plant time burden.
  • Identify opportunities to transfer, share, or disposition spare parts across the network.
  • Partner with plant/mill leaders to build shared accountability for MRO inventory performance and transformation.
  • Escalate issues when partners are not supporting required changes or performance expectations.
  • Ensure all levels of the organization understand inventory metrics, processes, and expectations.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience in inventory management, supply chain, reliability, or operations within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and drive action
  • Proficiency with inventory management systems, ERP tools, and optimization technologies
  • Ability to influence crossfunctional teams and drive accountability.
  • Ability to communicate and present across all levels of the organization
  • Willing to travel ~30%
  • Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Supply Chain, Data Analytics or Operations
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial setting
  • Experience with MRO inventory or storeroom management
  • Background in process improvement (Lean, Six Sigma, TPM)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Access and/or Sequel
