Job Description




As a Security Officer - NYS Licensed Street Patrol in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a commercial real estate location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that may help to reduce security-related incidents. You will support access control, observe and report unusual activity, and provide professional customer service through clear communication. Guided by our agile, reliable, and innovative approach, you will act with integrity and deliver through teamwork.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and property staff by following post orders, site-specific policies, and Allied Universal procedures, and by supporting security-related access control and visitor management.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout the commercial property, including lobbies, corridors, stairwells, parking areas, loading areas, and the exterior perimeter, noting and reporting unusual activity or conditions.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, providing initial assistance as appropriate and coordinating notifications with property management and/or emergency services.
  • Complete daily activity reports and incident documentation, communicate observations to the oncoming officer and/or site leadership, and help to maintain accurate logs for key control, deliveries, and service vendor activity.
  • Assist with security-related screening and monitoring at building entry points as assigned, helping to deter unauthorized access while maintaining a professional presence and clear communication.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
  • Be 21 or more years of age.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
