Ops Technician - Remote Warehouses

Anticipated Wage: $27.69/hr

SUMMARY:

Provide assistance to the Supply Chain, Warehousing and Distribution Manager in directing shipping, receiving, and inventory activities at remote warehouses.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Including the following. Other duties may be assigned. All of the following are to be performed while adhering to Tree Top operational policies, safety rules, procedures and good manufacturing practices. It is the responsibility of every employee at Tree Top Inc. to report food safety and food quality problems or risks to personnel with the authority to initiate action against these said possible risks. The Organization Chart indicates key personnel with the authority to take action.

1. All Areas:

• Assist the Manager with the primary training of operators
• Provide feedback to the Manager on training progress of operators and training needs across the shift
• Review the absentee list with the Manager and assist in coordinating the replacement of any absent employee required
• Throughout the shift, review all production paperwork for accuracy and completeness
• At the end of shift collect all the paperwork from the crew and transfer to Manager
• Oversee the proper cleaning and sanitization of all equipment and ensure it is performed at the prescribed intervals
• Assign daily tasks to Forklift drivers

1. Operate Forklift and Squeeze Lift

• Load and unload trucks with finished product and raw materials
• Maintain forklift, i.e. lights, oil, water, hydraulic fluid, and brakes
• Load and unload products
• Warehouse finished good products
• Transport supplies and product
• Wear seat belt at all times

1. Communicate Effectively

• Exchange information with Shipping Clerk regarding shipping process
• Exchange information with truck drivers, Shipping Clerk, forklift drivers, Warehouse Manager, and Supervisors to meet process needs
• Communicate with internal truck drivers regarding process needs
• Communicate with truck drivers regarding load requirements
• Contact Shipping Clerk with inventory adjustments
• Contact Maintenance regarding equipment problems
• Exchange information with Truck Drivers, Sales Department, Shipping Clerk, co-workers, and Warehouse Manager regarding customer requests

1. Control Inventories

• Complete inventory records, i.e. pallet shipping sheets, transfer sheets, and row cards
• Ship oldest product first; inspect product before shipping
• Verify accuracy of row cards
• Verify Bills of Lading and Transfer sheets
• Organize warehouse inventories to meet process needs
• Perform monthly physical inventory of entire warehouse
• Check product frequently to assure quality
• Transfer product in computer as needed (i.e. new production to appropriate warehouse, etc.)

1. Complete Paperwork

• Verify Bills of Lading on incoming and outgoing products and materials
• Record list of lots to be shipped and deliver record to Supervisor and Shipping Clerk
• Complete row sheets on finished product and transfer
• Log shipments on daily worksheets, i.e. item numbers, amounts, dates, etc.
• Maintain running record of shipments
• Print bills of lading as needed

1. Maintain Warehouse GMPs

• Organize supplies and pallets
• Perform daily and weekly cleaning of warehouse
• Maintain a clean work area; keep floors swept, brooms, squeegees, etc. in proper place; empty trash cans/bins as needed
• Remove debris from all areas and empty garbage cans in areas of responsibility daily
• Adhere to GMP standards throughout the entire plant

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• One-year position related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to communicate in English.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

• Ability to read a limited number of two and three syllable words, and to recognize similarities and differences between words and a series of numbers.
• Ability to communicate in English.
• Ability to write simple correspondence
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, other employees of TreeTop.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s.
• Ability to perform these operations using units of measure.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

• Forklift Certification

TECHNOLOGICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• HAZCOM
• MSDS
• GMP-training and understanding of standards
• Lock out / Tag out

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision to complete paperwork and manage inventory, distance vision to operate forklift and observe area of responsibility, color vision to recognize color coded boxes, peripheral vision to operate forklift and load/unload trucks, depth perception to operate forklift and stack materials/products, and the ability to adjust focus to drive forklift and insure safety of others.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions and is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold, and vibration. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to extreme heat.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
