Job Overview
Flexan, an Ingersoll Rand business, is seeking a Cost Accountant who brings both analytical horsepower and strong accounting fundamentals. This is a hands-on, high-impact role supporting manufacturing operations through cost and variance analysis, inventory and asset accounting, and month-end close activities. Beyond execution, you'll play a key role in strengthening and improving core costing and reporting processes that help move the organization forward. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, asking the right questions, and turning complex manufacturing data into clear, actionable insight. The successful candidate is both a doer and a thinker-comfortable with ambiguity, energized by change, and motivated by converting data into decisions. Sitting at the intersection of accounting and financial analysis, this position includes exposure to budgeting, forecasting, and operational reporting tied directly to production. Responsibilities:

Cost Analysis: Conduct analysis on product costs, manufacturing variances (material, labor, overhead, hours), inventory valuation, capital spending, and fixed asset management

Reporting: Create and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly financial KPIs to aid in decision making

Month End Close and Accounting: Prepare journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations

Internal Controls: Ensure compliance with company policy and procedures

Standard Cost Management: Review, update, and maintain standard costs and assist senior management in maintaining a robust business costing system

Budgeting and Forecasting: Support the development of the annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and monthly outlooks, focused on cost optimization and profitability improvements

System and Process Improvements: Support improvements to ERP configurations and drive efforts to streamline processes, standardize reporting, and implement dashboards
Requirements:

Bachelor's degree
-
3+ years of direct cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
-
3+ years of experience performing product cost analysis and manufacturing variance analysis (material, labor, overhead, and hours).

3+ years of ERP accounting module experience, such as JDE, Oracle, SAP

Pay Range: The pay range for this role is $75,000-$105,000. The pay range considers a wide range of factors that include a candidate's skills; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and geographic location.
