Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

Altorfer Industries, Inc is seeking a professional Warehouse Worker at our Mokena, IL location. The individual should be personable, possess problem solving capabilities, intelligent and able to adapt to all of the factors around them - Customers, suppliers, departmental employees, and peers.



Basic Duties

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):

    Works in a safe manner adhering to all company policies and procedures
  1. Must be customer service oriented with a positive attitude and great teamwork skills
  2. Parts sales order picking, packing and shipping
  3. Accurate and timely receiving of all emergency and stock parts orders from vendors
  4. Successfully perform physical inventory counts in coordination with inventory control and parts management
  5. Operates company vehicles as directed. Must have the ability to receive and maintain and Class C license
  6. Create & Assemble hydraulic hoses per specified requirements
  7. Operates within all Parts Department policies and procedures of the company
  8. Contributes to high employee morale and provide a superior customer experience
  9. Maintains excellent parts and service department, sales and customer relations


Qualifications

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE:

A high school diploma or equivalent, a technical school diploma in parts operations, or equivalent experience in warehousing in a distribution business.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Great communications and teamwork skills
  • Must be able to operate a forklift
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Good physical skills on equipment and an aptitude for manual work
  • Proficient parts knowledge
  • Warehouse training in a distribution field
  • A solid understanding of the physical aspects of a parts inventory system

Class C license (NON-CDL) or higher is required

Subject to both inside and outside conditions

This position works in both a warehouse environment with some outside exposure and office environment. May, on a continuous basis sit at a desk for long periods of time, answer phone calls and write or use a keyboard to communicate through email. May on a continuous basis, walk, bend and lift up to 75 pounds. The wearing of approved safety equipment (i.e. safety glasses with side shields, cut resistant gloves and steel toe footwear) is required. Noise level in the office is usually low and the noise level in the warehouse may range from low to moderate. Must be flexible during peak season to work overtime as needed. Occasional local travel may be required to deliver parts to customers. Must be able to operate a powered forklift safely and operate a company box truck. The physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
