JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Penn State Global is an opportunity for those seeking an international education career. Pre-Arrival Advising, a unit of International Student and Scholar Advising (ISSA), is hiring Part-Time Staff to assist with initial document production for incoming international students.

NOTE: U.S. Citizenship or Legal Permanent Residency is required by the Department of Homeland Security access to SEVIS as a Designated School Official (DSO) for this position.

Job duties include:

  • Review and adjudication of I-20 requests for initial document production;

  • Communicate with stakeholders and advise on matters relating to F-1 visas and arrival to the university;

  • Maintain and update federal and university students records in SEVIS, Sunapsis, and LionPATH/PeopleSoft for compliance;

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements, qualifications, and/or competencies:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-based applications;

  • Adherence to confidentiality of student documents;

  • Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment;

  • Ability to convey clear information to diverse and international populations.

This position will be filled for in-person duties at the Malcom Building at Innovation Park in State College. This is a wage-payroll position requiring availability of 20 hours per week through August, with possible hours to continue in fall.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR).
