Job Description

The Construction Manager will serve as the primary owner's representative on-site, overseeing all aspects of construction to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    Provide oversight of the construction and closeout phases of work.
  • Manage weekly progress (OAC) meetings, progress of the work for compliance with schedules, monitor project documentation (RFIs, change proposals, etc.)
  • Provide on-site quality assurance of work.
  • Coordinate owner held contracts.
  • Must have good understanding of public procurement procedures, design and construction processes.
  • On site visits to construction projects is required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Science/Management, Architecture or Engineering is required (relevant field construction management experience in place of education may be considered)
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Construction Project Manager; experience with facility or institutional projects strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Knowledge of design-phase management, building codes, and permitting agencies.
  • Proficiency in project controls, scheduling, estimating, cost management, and documentation.
  • Experience with K12 projects (renovations and new buildings) is required.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely in writing and verbally.
  • Must have strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, project management information systems (PMIS) and Bluebeam.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification preferred.
  • Certification as a Certified Construction Manager (CCM), registration as a Professional Engineer (PE or EIT) or registered Architect (RA) is desired, but not required.
