SSFM Entry to Mid-Level Structural Engineer Job Posting Position Summary:
As an Entry to Mid-Level Structural Engineer at SSFM International, Inc., you will support the planning, design, and execution of structural engineering projects under the guidance of senior engineers. This role is ideal for candidates who are early in their careers and are actively working toward obtaining their Hawaii Professional Structural Engineer license. You will gain hands-on experience with a variety of structural projects, including bridges, buildings, and other infrastructure, while developing your technical and project management skills.
Key Responsibilities
  • Project Support: Assist in the design and analysis of structural systems for bridges, buildings, retaining walls, and other structures using wood, steel, concrete, and masonry.
  • Technical Development: Prepare calculations, drawings, and specifications under supervision. Utilize CAD software for drafting and modeling.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, senior engineers, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
  • Learning & Growth: Participate in project meetings, site visits, and field inspections to gain practical experience and expand your engineering knowledge.
  • Professional Development: Actively work toward obtaining your Hawaii Professional Structural Engineer license by gaining qualifying experience and preparing for the required exams .
  • Adherence to Policy: Follow company policies and procedures, and contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment.

Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis from an accredited university. A Master's degree is a plus but not required .
  • Experience: 0-5 years of relevant structural engineering experience. Internship or co-op experience in structural engineering is beneficial.
  • Licensure: Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred. Must be actively working toward obtaining a Hawaii Professional Structural Engineer license .
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with CAD and REVIT software and structural analysis tools.
