Department OverviewThe Unified Communications team has a mission to become the leader in creating a highly scalable software platform and communication applications for first responders and industrial workgroups. Our customers rely on these solutions to run their critical business operations in the public safety, manufacturing, and infrastructure sectors. Every single day, we are shaping the future of mobile workgroup solutions for public safety and industrial users worldwide leveraging Motorola's rich heritage in this space. Our solutions include broadband Push to Talk (PTT), multimedia messaging, location based collaboration, video streaming with full interoperability with land mobile radio (LMR) systems. The products include client apps on Android, iOS, and Windows. Our backend software can be deployed On-Prem, in private data centers, or in a public cloud infrastructure. Job Description

Project Manager (PM) is responsible for the implementation of the Communication System and will act and be recognized as the leader / focal point for all aspects of assigned project(s). Responsible for delivering the scope, on schedule and within budget, while maintaining customer satisfaction.

Must be able to utilize Project Management tools (schedule, critical path analysis, budget, change order, risk assessment, action item log, etc) to analyze complex issues and develop resolutions for any issues related to assigned project(s). The PM is responsible for allocating all necessary resources to meet project objectives, corporate financial, and customer satisfaction goals. The project manager is responsible for direct communication to the customer's organization and relevant senior stakeholders internally throughout the life of the project.

  • Responsible for managing the project(s) inclusive of new system introduction and upgrade / update of existing system.

  • Develops project charters and statements of work (SOW) and obtains project sponsor/stakeholder buy-in for project initiation.

  • Defines and develops detailed project plans based on the given requirements and scopes.

  • Demonstrates best practices for developing schedules and understands the critical path.

  • Monitor project execution to ensure all obligations are met and drive projects to completion.

  • Collaborate with global stakeholders (internal and external) to resolve conflicts and drive successful delivery of projects.

  • Manages expectations of project sponsor and stakeholder with timely communication/escalation of risks/issues, their impact, and mitigation/corrective actions.

  • Recommends corrective actions and implements changes.

  • Identifies and mitigates project risks. Owns resolution to any dependency or issue not being delivered by the appropriate party.

  • Ensure all project documentations are completed and kept in the appropriate storage.

  • Demonstrated competency with office tools (e.g. MS Office and Google Suite).

  • Demonstrated competency with a project management tool (e.g. MS Project, Smartsheet)

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills are necessary.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with a desire to collaborate with internal and external business/technical teams.

  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team.

  • Highly organized, structured, and process oriented; team building skills a plus.

  • Able to simplify a complex situation and provide updates accordingly.

  • PMI Certified PMP is preferred, and ITIL will be an advantage.
