We are seeking an Apparel Product Designer for a 5-month hybrid engagement starting in February. You will join our client's dynamic product development team. In this role, you will be instrumental in pioneering the next generation of products, leveraging cutting-edge research and engineering to transform ambitious ideas into tangible, market-leading solutions. Responsibilities



  • Generate innovative ideas and new ways of thinking about performance-based products, identifying growth opportunities and competitive advantages.
  • Collaborate with product creation teams to develop the genesis of new product concepts across various product categories.
  • Define research protocols and establish testing scopes to validate concepts, ensuring robust proof of concept.
  • Translate advanced consumer, business, and performance insights into the development of advanced product concepts using new technologies and construction processes.
  • Deliver tangible proof of concept by transforming new product visions into reality, identifying key elements of product construction, materials, and processes.
  • Engineer and develop prototypes to test and refine product designs.
  • Lead complex innovation projects, guiding them from ideation through to realization by working with multi-disciplinary teams, including product creation, manufacturing, and external vendors.
  • Address intricate challenges with imaginative, state-of-the-art approaches, ensuring feasible and impactful solutions.
  • Draft comprehensive reports and present results and market concepts to functional departments.
  • Clearly and concisely communicate essential knowledge and best practices to facilitate the seamless transition of technology into final products.


Qualifications



  • Bachelor's Degree. (Alternatives accepted: PhD or Law + 6 years; Master's + 7 years; Associate's Degree + 9 years; High School Diploma + 10 years).
  • Minimum of 8 or 9 years of directly relevant work experience in product research, development, and engineering.
  • Proven ability to generate innovative product concepts and translate them into actionable development plans.
  • Strong background in defining and executing research protocols, including concept validation and prototyping. *
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex innovation projects and collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical information and market concepts effectively.
  • A keen understanding of consumer needs, business requirements, and performance criteria in product development.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $51.00 to $56.67 per hour. Compensation is based on several factors, including but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location
