Role Responsibilities

• Conducting follow-up visits and surveillance for patients post-cancer treatment or with hematologic conditions.
• Initiating diagnostic and therapeutic interventions during chemotherapy or other treatments, and interpreting lab results.
• Managing acute/episodic visits and side effects, and recognizing urgent issues.
• Overseeing some chronic condition management.
• New hematology consults in collaboration with the physician.
• Assisting in developing a new oncology care model to enhance patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must meet criteria for medical staff credentials at UNC Health Rockingham.
• Education Requirements: Completion of an accredited graduate-level Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) program.
• Licensure/Certification Requirements: Licensed as an Advanced Practice Provider (i.e., Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant) in the state of North Carolina or eligible. Board certification. DEA.
• Professional Experience Requirements: Two years' experience as an APP experience in oncology or related field preferred.
