Job Information Associate Professor in Mechanical and Materials Engineering The Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering at Florida International University (FIU) invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Aerospace Engineering, at the rank of Associate Professor. The anticipated start date is Fall 2026. Applicants must hold an earned Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline and demonstrate a strong record of scholarly research in aerospace engineering. The department seeks candidates whose research addresses novel and emerging aerospace concepts, including but not limited to aerodynamics, propulsion, and hypersonic systems. The successful candidate is expected to establish and sustain an externally funded research program commensurate with rank and to publish in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals. Teaching responsibilities include developing and delivering undergraduate and graduate courses in aerospace engineering and related areas, as well as mentoring graduate students and supervising doctoral research. The faculty member will also be expected to engage in interdisciplinary research initiatives, contribute to curriculum development, and participate in service activities at the department, college, and university levels.
