Job Description

Join Allstate's in-house legal team and take on a senior role defending both the insured and the Company in complex PIP / No-Fault matters. As a Senior PIP / No-Fault Attorney, you will independently manage a sophisticated litigation caseload while serving as a trusted legal partner to claims and business stakeholders. This role is ideal for an experienced attorney who thrives in a fast-paced environment and brings strong judgment to high-exposure matters.

This position is remote, with minimal court appearances. Candidates must be comfortable managing a full caseload independently while collaborating effectively in a virtual, in-house environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently manage all aspects of PIP / No-Fault litigation from inception through resolution, including case evaluation, discovery, motion practice, arbitrations, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
  • Handle more complex, high-exposure, or contested PIP matters, applying advanced litigation strategy and risk analysis.
  • Conduct SIU Examinations Under Oath (EUOs) and prepare detailed reports with a strong focus on fraud indicators, compliance, and litigation risk.
  • Review and analyze new file assignments, assess liability and damages, develop defense strategies, and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents with minimal supervision.
  • Conduct AAA No-Fault arbitrations and try cases as needed, including preparing witnesses, experts, and clients for testimony.
  • Serve as a key legal advisor to claims professionals by providing strategic guidance, case assessments, and recommendations throughout the life of a claim.
  • Proactively monitor changes in PIP / No-Fault laws, regulations, and case law, and apply those developments to litigation strategy and business practices.
  • Support team development by mentoring junior attorneys, sharing subject-matter expertise, and contributing to process improvements and best practices.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with the New York State Bar.

Minimum Requirements

  • 4+ years of PIP / No-Fault litigation experience or equivalent transferable litigation experience (e.g., insurance defense, personal injury, civil litigation).
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage a full litigation caseload with minimal oversight.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills, with experience drafting dispositive motions and arbitration submissions.
  • Advanced time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines.
  • Experience conducting arbitrations, EUOs, depositions, and settlement negotiations.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to partner effectively with claims professionals and internal stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of legal ethics, professional responsibility, and in-house practice standards.
  • Must be within commutable distance to courthouses throughout New York.
