Job Description
General Purpose of Job:
Responsible for providing assessment, evaluation, and treatment of acute care, adult medical-surgical patients under the guidance of the Hospitalist physicians.
Essential Duties:
This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Caregivers may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.
- Facilitates appropriate admissions to appropriate health system units by initiating orders, coordinating with appropriate attending physician, and moderating medication reconciliation process.
- Performs and dictates History & Physical, medical Consultation, Discharge Summary and SOAP notes as per hospitalist service standards.
- Assists with development of plan of care.
- Reviews diagnostic X-Rays, monitors lab values and other diagnostic studies.
- Performs daily rounds as assigned by Hospitalist physicians.
- Responds to Rapid Response Team (RRT) calls as assigned.
- Communicates with physicians, nursing staff, residents and other members of the medical team to maintain current and accurate updates in patient status.

| Work Experience |
* 3-5 yrs as a NP/PA acute care hospital experience preferred |
| Education |
* Graduate of an accredited NP/PA program * RN and current MI License required * Certification and licensure as a NP/PA in the State of MI required. * Current BCLS. * MSN degree preferred |
| Specialized Knowledge and Skills |
* Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective plan of care. * Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively and appropriately communicate with patients, families, physicians and other hospital associates. * Demonstrates ability to use a keyboard as may be required to perform the essential duties of the job. |
